oh i do like to be beside the seaside, oh i do like to be beside the sea!!!!
so after watching the f1, i was a little lost as to what to do with myself, so went for a short walk to see the ships in the sun and i must say southampton really does look lovely with the hot sun, shinning down on the water.
summers nearly here!
so got our results back this week and i was very very pleased with my two 1st’s and four 2:1’s. can’t believe 2nd year is now over and we’re already talking about our degree show next year and dissertations.
this week though has been a rather relaxed one, helped by the hot sunny weather. plenty of trips to the parks and down to the docks (even had a little paddle) and had a few lovely meals out with friends. I even went swimming!
also an amazing qualifying result in the formula one, even though he has a grid penalty Michael Schumacher was still fastest and i was in tears of joy, been so long since i’ve seen my hero fastest and it tasted every bit as sweet as it used too, almost felt like i was 16 again. Also my other fav Massa had a much improved qually.
So a brill week and not long till i head back to yorkshire for summer now too!!!!
So today i have my viva voce assessment, for the end of 2nd year. Can’t believe how quickly the year has gone and feeling a little nervous about lunchtime today. last night i went in a hung the work i wish to show in my viva, i also had to bring in all my supporting work and the canvas’ i haven’t hung on the way. The pieces i chose to put on the wall, i feel are the most successful ones and are also the ones that everyone has said they favor and have worked best. Now i just need to think of what to say about them and also link them into the artist’s i’ve looked at during the semester and the exhibitions i’ve visited, as well as what i’ve learnt and how i intend to move forward with my practice. Fingers crossed it goes well!!!
so here’s a little something i’ve been working on recently!!!
as part of our second year at uni, we’ve had to put on an exhibition from start to finish. we called it A right fine mess and it’s currently running at the bargate monument gallery in southampton!!
above are some images of my work in the show, for it i included a painting and a photograph, which continue my theme of north and south pairs. as well as challenging the roll photography plays in my work. which is why i chose to place them at different ends of the gallery.
